Un bar « sous-marin » sur le lac gelé de St. Moritz

The Kulm Hotel St.Moritz is the main sponsor of the bar, which is serving sushi (prepared by chefs from the one-star Michelin Ryokan Hasenberg in Widen), sake and Champagne. The Kulm submarine bar, which measures 40m in length and is 9m high by 4m across, was constructed by a team of 13, including an engineer, architect, carpenter, locksmith, electrician, painter and lighting technician. Built over a two-week period in a warehouse near Zurich, in utmost secrecy, it was then transported in pieces to St Moritz and assembled overnight on Friday 7 February, so that its arrival was a complete surprise to local residents.

Case Study: How a ski resort hit 30 percent email conversion rate via Facebook

On January 17, Heyo customer and CEO of Out and About Marketing, Milena Regos, launched a Facebook contest for her client, Squaw Valley Ski Resort. Squaw Valley wanted the contest to drive additional likes for the page in addition to capturing fan emails. Over the first 11 days, the campaign has converted at over 30 percent and helped drive 6,975 new likes. This means for every 100 people that view the campaign, 30 are entering their email.

Aurélien de PIERREFEU‘s insight:

Plutôt rare que le site Inside Facebook parle de ski, mais les résultats du dernier jeu Facebook de la station de Squaw Valley sont réellement impressionnants.

Top 50 French ski resorts on Facebook (2 Feb ’14)

The term ‘pent-up demand’ came to mind as I analysed this month’s top 50 French ski resorts on Facebook. That is, when the demand for something is particularly strong and/or there is a scarcity of supply. Maybe my economics degree is coming in useful after all…
